Tilda With Cat Roses on Paper #34 - Punch It

I am entering my card into the Roses On Paper Challenge #34 - Punch It.

I used a sketch for my layout. The sketch is from an incredible 13-year-old artist named Hanna. Check out her blog; it is fantastic!

I turned the sketch over because it worked better with my image. Here is my card...

Stamp: Tilda With Cat
Paper: DCWV (Pet Collection and Textured Cardstock, Chocolate Chip (SU!)
Ink: Staz-On, Distress Ink
Accessories: Prima's, Stampin' Up! brads, charm, chain, MS Branch Punch, scallop punch (SU!), sewing machine

I have still been playing with the distress ink water coloring. I really like the way Tilda turned out in this card. I wanted to make it special, so i did a lot of stitching with matching blue thread.

I used part of a chain to hang my charm. I used my Scallop Edge Border Punch to punch around the edges of the card.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Sketch Saturday 96 - Tilda With Ladybug

This card is for Sketch Saturday #96. Here is the sketch...

... and here is my card...

Stamp: Tilda with Ladybug (Magnolia), Whimsical Words
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill
Ink: Staz-On, Distress Ink
Accessories: Floral Vine Punch (Martha Stewart), Spellbinders Die, leaf punch, Prima's Flowers, Rhinestones

I am continuing to work on my distress water coloring.

I wanted to continue the floral vine theme from the punch, so I built a vine out of mini roses and my leaf punch.

Have a great week!

Embellish-It FC81 - Duncan Hines Birthday/SC273/Copic Creations #24

This challenge is for Embellish-It Scrapbooking Friday Challenge #81 - Duncan Hines Birthday. Danni is our wonderful hostess this week, and here is what she had to say...

This week is all about Duncan Hines. March 26, 1880 was the birth of Duncan Hines. Yes, THEE Duncan Hines, of the cake/baking empire. In honor of his birthday, let's create a layout, card, mini album, packaging or alterable with a cake, cupcake, frosting, sprinkles or anything cake-related on it. If you create packaging, for example, you could create a package decorating a cake baking gift set. Anything goes, just have fun.

I decided to incorporate the Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenge #273 into this challenge and used this sketch...

I took a little poetic license and made a square card and changed the shape. Here is my card...

Stamps: Anna Mae (Our Craft Lounge)
Paper: Blue Skies (American Crafts ), Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion, Bermuda Bay (SU!)
Ink: Memento, Copics
Accessories: Spellbinders Die, Felt cut with die and airbrushed with Copics, Rhinestone brad

I also wanted to incorporate Copic Creations Challenge #24. They are celebrating their one-year blogoversary. For this challenge, they wanted participants to use one of the techniques taught over the last year. I chose two - Feather Blending and coloring embellishments. You can see the feathering in Anna Mae's dress and in some of the letters. There is a great tutorial for this technique here.

The other technique is coloring embellishments. I chose to color my felt flowers with my Copics Airbrush System. I bought some inexpensive felt at Hobby Lobby and used my Big Shot and a die to cut out my flowers. I love that I can make them any color I like with my airbrush system.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend.

My inspiration for my card came from the Sketch Saturday Challenge #95. Here is their sketch...

...and here is my Christmas Card.

Stamp: Tilda With Candle
Paper: Baroque Burgundy, Daisy D's, Bazzill.
Ink: Staz-On, Distress Ink
Accessories: Glitter glue (candle flame), MS Lattice punch, stitched ribbon (SU! retired), roses from Michaels bridal section, half pearls.

I love this beautiful Tilda. She is so much fun to water color with the distress inks. I added some glitter glue to her flame to make it sparkle.

Friday Sketchers #91 (A little late)/Scrap-Creations

This is really bad. I made this card for the Friday Sketchers Challenge #91 a month ago. I was all ready to post the card. I figured I could do it while on vacation. Then, low and behold, I could not get on the internet. So, the card has been sitting waiting to be posted. So, though I did not make the cut off for the challenge, I still like the card and decided to post it.

A little after the fact, I had a comment that I should enter this in the Scrap-Creations Going Grey Challenge, so this card is for that challenge as well.

Here is the sketch...

...and here is the card...
Stamp: Tilda With Lamb (Magnolia)
Paper: Bordering Blue, LilyKate (Basic Grey)
Ink: Staz-on, Distress Ink.
Accessories: Martha Stewart Punch, Prima Flowers, Stickles, ribbon, lace, corner punch.

This is one of my favorite Magnolias. I just love her with that sweet little lamb. I water colored with distress ink and added Stickles to her outfit. I blended colors of distress inks for the background.

I used the same color blending with distress inks for my Easter Wishes background.

I used Prima flowers with some Stickles to make the flowers sparkle.

I hope you will join me Thursday for the monthly Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long blog hop.

Embellish-It FC80 - SPRING!

Spring is in the air! We have all endured a long winter, but March 20 is the first day of SPRING! In honor of this wonderful time of year, this week's Embellish-It Scrapbooking challenge is SPRING! Make a card or project for Spring!

Stamps: Fancy Girls Digital Image,
Ink: Ink jet printer, Copics, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Baja Breeze, Dear Lizzy (American Crafts)
Accessories: Ribbon from stash, Stickles, Primas, Spellbinders, Pearl brad and pearl sprays from bridal supplies.

The image is precolored, but I did a little playing with my Copics and found that I can add to the image without spreading the ink jet ink. I added a little shadow under my fancy girl to ground her. I also added some Stickles to her hat and dress to dress her up a little more. Isn't she gorgeous?!

I wanted to add some wide ribbon, and I found this ribbon in my stash that matched perfectly. I added some Prima's and a pearl brad that I found in the bridal section at Joann's. I also added some pearl sprays. I love the extra little pizazz they add.

FC78 - EIS Challenge - Dare to be Square

Hi all! Sorry I have been absent for the last week. We were on Spring Break vacation down in Phoenix. It was so nice to get out of the snow for the week. Back home yesterday, and today it snowed. Uggghhh!

I created this for the Embellish-It Scrapbooking Friday Challenge #78 - Dare to be Square. I incorporated 13 squares onto my card. I don't take a challenge lightly.

Stamps: How Sweet You Are (Sarah Kay)
Paper: Dear Lizzy (American Crafts), Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Staz-On, Prismacolor pencils
Accessories: Prima Flowers, Dear Lizzy Flair, Flower Soft, Rhinestone Brads

I colored this sweet Sarah Kay image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.

I used a flower with some Flair to make a "sun" for my little garden scene.

Reminder - Embellish-It Scrapbooking has a great deal on ribbon right now.
