Cute Card Thursday #175 - Sketch

Happy Thursday!

This week at Cute Card Thursday, we have a terrific sketch for you.

...and here is my card...

Stamps: Sitting Angel Tilda, Tim Holtz Visual Artistry
Paper: Signature Christmas (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, lace, MS Branch Punch.

It is really fun to watercolor. You just never quite know what you are gonna get. I love how you can blend colors and really get into the details.

The challenge this week at Make it Colourful is to color your embellishments. I did that with my airbrush, coloring my roses with a variety of Copics colors.

I also colored the metallic frame around my sentiment with alcohol ink. It started as a silver frame, and is now cappuccino.

In addition, I took this white lace and added just a hint of Antique Lace Distress Ink to age it a bit.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fabulous weekend!

Cute Card Thursday #174 - For His Eyes Only

Happy Thursday!

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is called "For His Eyes Only." We want you to make a masculine card. I made a card for the love of my life...

Stamps: Edwin Waiting For Fish, Tim Holtz Visual Artistry
Paper: Paper Pizazz Masculine
Accessories: Button, Charm, Lure, Organza Ribbon, Elegant Flourishes

For the Make It Colourful challenge, I colored Edwin's hair with a combination of blue, gray and white for "non-traditional colors."

I layered a charm on a button to add the red color with a fishing themed item.

My hubby was cleaning out his tackle box and found a few lures he no longer needed, so I added one to this card.

I used the sketch from the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge...

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - Texture

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge. Our challenge this week is "Texturize It." We want to see you use what you can to add texture to your card. Here is my card...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund...

Stamps: Christmas Morning Tilda (Unfortunately not currently in the store, but check out all the other cute Magnolia images)

I tried coloring to reflect the color of the light off her dress and the background.

I added some texture with an embossing folder, used this texture to create a tag, and tucked it behind the image.

I included more textures in my flowers with the berries, leaves and flowers.

I want to give credit where credit is due. The sketch I used is from Hanna's Hobbyblog. Hanna has some gorgeous sketches on her side bar. They are great when you get layout block.

I am entering this card in Papertake Weekly - Getting Cute!

Cute Card Thursday #173 - Going Round in Circles

Happy Thursday!

I have been on hiatus for a couple weeks, but I am back now with a new post for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Our challenge this week is to include a circle element on your creation. Here is my card...

Paper: DCWV
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Liquid Pearls, Lace, Doily, MS Leaves and Branch Deep Edge Punch

During my hiatus, we camped for a week in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, days of listing to a river and staring at beautiful mountains and trees. Ahhh, relaxation. I had lots of down time to watercolor some images, including this one.

I have to admit, all the flowers in the bouquet are precolored. My airbrush has not seen the light of day in weeks.

I added Pearls to the corners and Liquid Pearls to the image for a little extra zing. I aged the doily with Distress Ink.

There are several circle elements on my card, including the doily, the circles on the DCWV paper on the doily. the pearls, and even the dots on her dress.

I used the sketch from Just Magnolia.

Just Magnolia's sponsor this week is 7 Kids College Fund, and you have the chance to win a $20 voucher to the store.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday #170 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday!

This week at Cute Card Thursday, we have a sketch challenge for you. Here is the sketch...

...and here is my card...

Stamp: Fisher Dad and Daughter (Karen's Doodles), Wonderful Favorites (SU!)
Paper: Paper Pizazz Mixing Masculine
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Copics
Accessories: Brads, Fish Button, Hemp Twine

If you saw my post from yesterday, you know that my husband and daughter LOVE to go fishing. I just love this image. It is a true reflection of some recent days on the lake (the difference in the size of the fish - grin). I gave her a red jacket because my daughter always wears her red jacket fishing.

I love these old-fashioned brads that I found at Joann.

The tags pull out to reveal all the great qualities of my hubby!

Thanks for stopping by today. I look forward to seeing what you create using this week's sketch.

7 Kids College Fund Challege #24 - Make it Fluffy

Happy Wednesday!

Summer is here, and it is hot, hot, hot! I hope you were able to join our summer challenge last week. If not, we have another fun challenge for you this week. Our challenge is "Make it Fluffy." We want you to use flock, suede, flower soft, felt, or something else that makes it fluffy. Use your imagination and show us what you come up with. And don't forget to use a stamp that 7 Kids carries to be eligible for the prize.

Here is my card...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund...

This is a perfect representation of my husband and my daughter. They LOVE to go fishing!!! So, I am in love with these stamps. I am quite certain they will get a lot of use.

This is where my fluffy element comes in. I used flock on my cattails. The cattails are actually made with polymer clay, a toothpick, glue, and brown flock. I mixed them in with some seed grass to give the feel of being at the lake.

What fishing trip is complete without a dragonfly?

I used the June sketch for the CLP Challege and will be entering the card in their challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today. Now, go make it fluffy!

Cute Card Thursday - Birthstone

Our Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week is to use your birthstone as inspiration for your card. I am a May baby, so my birthstone is Emerald. Here is my card...

Stamps: Tilda With Cute Skirt, Wonderful Favorites, Vintage Labels (SU!)
Paper: K&Co
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Buttons, Charm, Feathers, Berries, Cricut Lacey Labels

So, this card is for father's day. What do you think, too girlie? My daughter thinks so. Oh, well, it is on its way.

I just got some Perfect Pearls and needed to try some techniques, so I colored some white paper with distress inks and Perfect Pearls. I used this paper for my sentiment.

I love the look of berries on a card. I have started to play with making my own. The blue berries are a result of that effort. I layered buttons and added feathers for a non-flowery embellishment.

I used the sketch from Just Magnolia and will be entering the card in that challenge.

A LITTLE EXTRA...
I wanted to share this adorable give my daughter made for me. She loves to draw anime cats. She drew this cat and created a card.

Here is a closeup of the cat she drew...

She used polymer clay to make a cat to match. The cat is holding a cake with a sweet message carved into the top.
