Great Charity Opportunity and Chance to Win!

Tab from 7 Kids College Fund is participating in the Lean On Me Walk to help Singleton Moms. You can help and have the chance to win a Great Prize. Read below or visit the 7 Kids College Fund Blog for more details.

Grand
7 KIDS is participating in the Singleton Moms Lean On Me Walk for the second year. Last year, 7 KIDS customers were the #1 fundraisers for this awesome charity. LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!!! Just like last year, I will be collecting great prizes from my vendors, as well as goodies from CHA, and shipping them out to the drawing winners. There will be multiple prizes! To be entered into the drawing, all you have to do is make a donation to Singleton Moms on my FirstGiving.com fundraising page. Everyone who donates will be entered to win, but whoever makes the largest donation will be guaranteed one of the prizes!
To kick things off, I am offering the first prize: the NEW Spellbinders Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine!!! Check the blog for updated prize information. Last year many of my vendors generously donated prizes to the drawing. As I receive donations, I will update the blog.
7 KIDS customers are the most generous and wonderful people. I KNOW we can beat last year's contributions of $1500 and really help some moms struggling with cancer!
PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT CHANGE IN INFORMATION: In the original e-mail I stated the walk was on 2/28. It is actually on 2/20, so please make your donation by 2/19 to be eligible for the drawing! ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

CLICK HERE for more information on Singleton Moms. Consider signing up for Gimme Five. It's just $5 a month and it gives SM a known monthly money source that allows them to confidently offer their services to more women in need. Sugar Creek Hollow - Black and White with a splash of color...

Happy Saturday!

Our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow this week is to use Black, White and a splash of color. With Valentine's Day coming, I opted to use a splash of red. Here is my card...

Paper: DCWV
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Copics
Accessories: Flowers, Lace, Heart Doily, Branch Punch, Pearl Sprays

The primary colors I used for the bird house were cool gray Copic Markers (C01, C03, C05 and C07). The hearts are colored with Copic Markers R29 with a bit of gray for shadows.

Again, I colored the border of the Valentine Tag with R29. I used C03 and C01 for the remainder of the tag. I added some rose buds and pearl sprays to embellish the tag.

I used the sketch for the Midnight Madness Challenge as the base design for my card...

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!

I just purchased this beautiful digi stamp, Joy Sitting. I think she is absolutely gorgeous! I took an edge punch and formed it around the oval for a lovely frame.

7 Kids Challenge - #13 Try a New Technique

It's Wednesday and time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge!

This weeks challenge is to try a new technique. Barb Hardeman recently posted a Never Ending Card, and I was so intrigued, I just had to try it out. Here is my Never Ending Card.

Page 1

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund

Accessories:  Flowers, Stickles, Flower Soft

And this shows how the card starts.

I checked YouTube for a tutorial and there are a few available. I used this tutorial.  It is pretty simple. The hardest part is figuring out how to decorate the panels. I have shown this to a few people, and they absolutely love this technique. It is like a toy that they can't stop playing with.

So, what technique have you been itching to try? Try it this week and enter the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.

Have a great day!

Bunny Tilda on Whimsical Log

I just got an awesome new background stamp called Whimsical Log from Make it Crafty. I just could not wait to use it. I thought it would be really cute with Bunny Tilda. This is what I came up with...

Stamp: Bunny Tilda, Whimsical Log
Paper: Basic Grey
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Branch Punch, Stickles, ribbon

I used Stickles on my moon to give it lots of sparkle.I should also mention that this is actually a masked Tilda that I stamped and masked before running the the cardstock through the printer for the digi image. It took some thinking but I think I have it figured out.

I am entering this in the Make it Colourful Challenge which is to use red. There is actually a lot of red in the card, but disguised and pink and shadowed. The flowers are colored with Copic Markers RV00, R83 and R85. I added some W1, W3 and W5 for shadows. Tilda is colored with Copic Markers RV00, RV02 and RV04. After I finished my background, I really wanted Tilda to have many more shadows (as it is a night scene) so I used W1, W3 and W5 to add lots of shadow. In the end, I kind of like the effect because it feels like Tilda is a chocolate bunny and I just LOVE chocolate!

I added some polka dot ribbon and flowers for the Basic Grey Challenge (Dots and Spots).

I used the sketch from Simon Says Challenge for my card...

In addition, I will be entering this card in the following challenges...

Basic Grey - Dots and Spots
Stamp Something - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - My Favorite Things (Copics, Flowers, Pearls, this new digi image)
Pile It On - Anything Goes

Sugar Creek Hollow - Fabric

Happy Saturday!

Our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow this week is to use Fabric on our project. I opted to use a gorgeous new digi from Sugar Creek Hollow to create this Vintage Valentine card...

Paper: DCWV
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Copics

I used fabric as a background "paper" and to make the flowers. I used mod podge to attach the fabric to paper to provide some stiffness so I could run it through the die cut machine.

Come play along with us. We would love to have you!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Cute Card Thursday - #147 Monochromatic

Our challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is to create a monochromatic card. Here is my monochromatic card...

Paper: Paper from stash (not sure of company)
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Copics Airbrush System, Stickles, Fiskars embossing punch, lace, branch punch

I colored the image with a combination of greys, C00 to C09. It is a good lesson in shadowing to work with greys. Rather than color, you can really focus on where the light and shadows fall. I then went back and added shades of purple to the dress, shoes and hair accessory.

I colored my flowers to match the image and paper with my Copics Airbrush System and added Stickles for some sparkle.

I used the sketch from Magnolia Down Under.

Our sposor this week is Simon Says Stamp. Join us in the challenge this week for your chance to win...

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sugar Creek Hollow

Happy Saturday!

Welcome back to a New Year of Sugar Creek Hollow Challenges. We have lots of fun challenges in the works, and it is shaping up to be a great year!

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch...

...and here is my interpretation of the sketch (with a little poetic license)

Paper: Rustic (DCWV)
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Copics, Distress Ink,
Accessories: Flowers, leaves, charm

I combined some images in Photoshop to create a scene with a cottage feel.

I added some flowers and a charm for a little extra pizazz. I love the regal elegance of these papers, and how gorgeous is this door?

Everyone is invited to enter a card using this sketch and you are not required to use an image from Sugar Creek Hollow but if you do you will get two entries into the random prize draw.  The winner of that draw will receive a digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on their blog.  Once we reach a minimum of 10 entries, the Design Team will select a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a special badge to display on their blog.  Every month there will be a Guest Designer chosen from the Cards of the Week and that person will be invited to join the Design Team in a challenge.  There are lots of reasons to enter so we can't wait to see your fabulous creations.

Did you know? - - - The proceeds of sales from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe go to provide food, clothing and shelter for those who are less fortunate.  If you don't have any images from the Shoppe yet, check it out and when you buy something to use on your creations you can say that you have helped out too.

So, won't you join us for this week's challenge?

Cute Card Thursday - #146 Out with the Old!

Happy Thursday!

The challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is "Out with the Old." As I used to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I decided to break out some of my old favs.

Stamps: Bronc Buster, Wanted (SU!)
Paper: Really Rust, Round Up Scrapbooking Kit
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Copics
Accessories: Bazzill Buttons, Rope, Spellbinders Labels 4

I had a tan button, but wanted more color, so I used my Copics to add color to the button.

I used the sketch from the Midnight Madness Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back Saturday when Sugar Creek Hollow resumes their Saturday Challenges with new prizes and more opportunities to play along.

7 Kids Challenge - #12 Hot or Cold

Happy New Year! (are you sick of hearing it yet?)

Our Challenge today at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge is Hot or Cold - Choose Your Extreme! I chose cold and went for a rainy scene...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund
Ink:  Memento, Copics

I colored my image with Copics, focusing on the light and shadows. The background was colored with my Copics Airbrush System and hand drew in some extra grass and weeds.

I made a bouquet with 5 leaves and 4 flowers.

This will be a birthday card for a loved one with a January Birthday.

I glued a charm onto my ribbon and attached another charm with a chain.

I used the Spellbinders Frameabilities Scalloped Edge Frame to cut out the image, and then lifted the frame with dimensionals.

I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers...

I will also be entering this card in the following challenges:

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Blues Challenge
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
