Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog Hop Challenge

Magnolia-licious Highlites had a great blog hop this week. As part of the blog hop, they challenged their fans to make a card using accessory stamps only (no Tilda, Edwin, large animals or Snowmen). I hope my small bird works as an accessory.

Here is my card...

Stamps: So Heavenly Dove (Magnolia), Refuge and Strength (Stampin' Up!)

Ink: Memento brown, Copics, Creamy Caramel, Bordering Blue

Paper: SU! Creamy Caramel, Bordering Blue, Classic K Bailey (K&Co)

Embellishments: Prima’s, Button, Leaf punch (EK Success), Branch Punch (Martha Stewart), lace from stash.

I stamped the dove with brown memento on Creamy Caramel card stock and colored with Copics.

I fear it may be sacrilegious, but I purchased an old hymnal from thrift shop to use on my cards. I tore a hymn from the hymnal, tore the edges, burned the edges, and then sponged Creamy Caramel ink on the paper to age it. Honestly, no disrespect is meant but rather a blessing of song to the recipient of the card.

I distressed the edges and added Prima's with leaves to add to the vintage/elegant feel.

Go check out the blog hop from Magnolia-licious Highlites. They have some beautiful cards and great ideas.

Have a great week.

I love your card, Julie! I personally don't feel that it's sacreligious to use torn pages from a hymnal (now if it had been a Bible that would be a different story). But I think your usage made it all the more special. I love the distressing you did, the lace & the antiquey feel of it. I love all of it. Great job!
