Sugar Creek Hollow - Color Challenge

Happy Saturday!

It's another challenge day at Sugar Creek Hollow. Our challenge today is a color challenge. Here is the color combo...

Stamps: Scruffy Manger, Christ Is Born
Paper: Bailey (K&Co), Chocolate Chip
Ink: Distress Ink, Ink Jet Printer
Accessories: Country Crinkle ribbon, Stickles, Grungeboard, crown brad (The Paper Studio), Lace, Rock Candy Crackle Paint, flowers.

I doubled up my images in Photoshop and printed on white cardstock. The aging effect is created with distress ink and Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

I used some Crinkle Ribbon, made into a bow and tied together. I used brown alcohol ink to color my silver crown which really gave a cool effect, and then attached the brad to the ribbon.

I colored the grungeboard with Broken China Distress Ink, covered it with Rock Candy Crackle Paint, and then after the paint dried, went over it with Walnut Distress Ink. I then covered it with blue Stickles. It ended up having a shade of green, but was colored with blue and brown. Go figure.

I hope you will visit all the designer's blogs today. Their cards are stunning! And go visit Sugar Creek Hollow for some wonderful, vintage Christmas Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today!

This is magnificent Julie! All the things you've done-the different techniques-create a wonderful aged feel. I love the corner lace, stitching and the crown with the crinkle ribbon-such beautiful details. And using the sentiment digi over the manger one is brilliant. Love how that turned out. You have such talent!

Sharon

This is just fantastic Julie! This really look like an old barn in Bethlehem! Love the old, worn look to it.

Julie I have really come to admire your style. I just love your Rock candy distress technique. This card has a Fabulous Vintage feel. I love that you used the 2 images together and I will most definitely be borrowing this idea. I have found several times with the distress stickles the final color is not what I thought it would be.
