Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes (Cigar Box)

Happy Thursday!

This week at Cute Card Thursday, it's ANYTHING GOES!

Tis the season for cigar box alterations. Here is one of my latest...

Stamps: Life's Possibilities (Tim Holtz)
Paper: Rock Star (DCWV)
Ink: Alcohol Ink, Staz-On
Accessories: Cigar box, Baroque (Tim Holtz), Foundations Box Feet (Tim Holtz), charm, Mod Podge, paint dauber (white), Copper Leaf Pen

I finished the inside of the box with a piece of fleece.

The box feet add some an elegant touch to the box.

I am having so much fun with Tim Holtz products and techniques.

Thanks for stopping by today!

There Lived a Beautiful Princess Cigar Box

I made another cigar box. This one found a home on the other side of the country, in Connecticut.

I used Lady Tilda and the Once Upon a Time paper pack (DCWV) for the basis of the box. I really wanted to create a fairy tail on the box.

I just love this beautiful paper. It has so many color variations that the potential combinations go on and on.

I think a beautiful crochet lace is the perfect finish. I actually layered the lace over a piece of the paper to add some color interest.

I used a gorgeous font and one of my favorites, Bickham Script. I love the classic, old fashioned feel of this font.  The hardware is part of the Tim Holtz Alterations collection.

I used Copics to color my image. I am still learning pleats which is not an easy concept for me. I must say, I love the regal color of her dress, and it matches the paper perfectly.

Of course, a beautiful princess must have flowers on her box.

The castle was cut from the paper.  To me, it feels mysterious, like a castle on a cloud.

The feet are part of the Tim Holtz Alterations collection.

I finished the inside of the box with some of the paper, fleece, a die cut (Cricut) and  this lovely butterfly.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great week!

Cute Card Thursday #141 - The Blues

Happy Thursday!

It's time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Our challenge this week is The Blues.Instead of a card, I altered another cigar box (I have a local source). Here is my box...

I used Tilda With Curls and Open Gate, both available at 7 Kids College Fund. I colored the image with a combination of Copics and Distress Ink. I drew in some extra grass to complete the scene.

Here are some other pictures of my altered cigar box...

I will be giving this as a gift this year. There is joy and fear in making a gift. I love that I can make something I would LOVE to keep, but worry whether the recipient will love it like I do. Such is the challenge of the crafter.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Magnolia Fairy Tale - Altered Cigar Box

I made this about a month ago, and have waited for just the right time to post it. I had seen an altered cigar box previously and loved the idea. Here is my version...

I used acrylic paint and crackle medium over the entire box.

I lined the inside of the box with felt.

I covered the sides of the box with this lovely lace. The feet are Tim Holtz Hitch Fasteners.

I hand-drew some extra rocks on the wall.

I will be entering this in the Magnolia-licious Highlites Chalenge. I really enjoyed this project and have found the boxes to make many more.

Thanks for stopping by today!
