Ladybug Tilda / Basic Grey Challenge / Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge

The Basic Grey Challenge is a sketch by Martine. Here is her sketch...

Paper: Two Scoops (Basic Grey), Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirhouette, Mint Medley (retired).
Ink: Staz-On, Distress Ink
Accessories: Creative Memories Cutting System (circles), lace (from Walmart), Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Oak Leaf Punch, Branch Punch, mini roses, Sizzix Architectural Accents, flat-back pearls, pink 1/4" ribbon, jump rings, charm.

I am still playing with distress inks. I just love Ladybug Tilda in pink. She is so adorable!

The monthly challenge for Just Magnolia is a special technique presented by Mindy Baxter and is folded lace borders. I used this technique for my lace border around my circle. 

I will be on a break this week, focusing on coloring some images, but check back next week to see what is new.

Sassy Cheryl's/Basic Grey

For my card, I combined two challenges. Sassy Cheryl's Challenge for this week was to a use a Sassy Cheryl 'girl' image and include ribbon in our card or 3-D project. I love to use sketches for layout inspiration, so I used the sketch from Basic Grey Sketch Challenge #17.

Paper: Basic Grey Two Scoops, DCWV textured cardstock, Baja Breeze (SU!)
Ink: Ink Jet Printer, Copics
Accessories: Branch Punch, Leaf Punch, Prima's Flowers, Half Pearls (SU! Pretties), Organza Ribbon, Stickles


She is so adorable. Cheryl offered her as a special gift for reaching 300 members on Paper Craft Planet. If you like this image, you should check out her group. They are a fun bunch of gals.


Here is a closeup of her face. I figured if she was dressing up, she would probably wear some of her mom's makeup, so I used Prismacolor pencils to add a little eye shadow and lipstick. I added Stickles to her glasses and tiny pearls to her earrings.

When I look at the image, I think this is the PERFECT saying. She looks like she is doing the Hokey Pokey.

Embellish-It FC72 - Let It Snow

I made this for the Embellish-It Friday Free For All Challenge #73 - Let It Snow. The challenge is to use snowflakes. So I decided to make it my focus. The snowflake is a Sizzix die cut from Stampin' Up! called Snowflake #2.


The paper is LilyKate by Basic Grey and the stamp is Lucy and Kitty by Sarah Kay. The scallop background is silver metallic paper from my stash and I finished it off with rhinestones.
