Happy Thursday!

It has been rainy here in the Rockies, perfect crafting weather.

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is to color on kraft card stock. I must admit, this is way out of my comfort zone, so really was a challenge for me. Here is what I came up with...

Stamps: Willow With Lantern, Circle of Friendship (SU!)
Paper: Burgundy, O Christmas Tree (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Memento
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Cricut Lacy Labels, Metallic Pencils, Flowers, Liquid Pearls, Stickles, Nellie Snellen Floral Branch Punch 2,

I added Stickles to my roses.

I first colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils, but then wanted more sheen, so I color over the dress and ribbon with metallic pencils.

In the picture below, you can see some of the sheen created with the metallic pencils.

For my card, I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday...

Cute Card Thursday #139 - A sketch by Susan

Howdy!

It's time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge. This weeks challenge is a sketch by our talented designer, Susan. Here is her sketch...

...and here is my card...

Stamps: Willow With Cookies (Whiff of Joy)
Paper: A Country Christmas (The Paper Studio)
Ink: Distress Ink, Memento, Copics
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags, flowers, lace, buttons

I used a blend of  Copics and Distress Inks to color Willow With Cookies. I have found it is actually easier to color this image with distress inks because of the detail. But, I still like the blend.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the DP, then mounted it to a Tim Holtz Ideology fragment. I then mounted that onto an altered  Spellbinders Fancy Tag.

I have had these Christmas buttons for a while, and loved them with this image I needed to tone down the color, so colored the buttons with W7 Copics.

Here is a closeup of my flowers.

Cute Card Thursday - Christmas

Sorry I have been out of commission this month. My family was camping for the July 4 holiday. While we were away, I actually received some incredible news...

I am so thrilled to announce that I have been invited to join two design teams this month, 7 Kids College Fund and Cute Card Thursday. What a surprise this was for me. I love 7 Kids College Fund. They have such a great selection, awesome prices, and great service. Cute Card Thursday has always been one of my favorite challenge blogs, so it is an incredible honor to me to join this team.

Here is my Christmas in July inspiration card.

Sketch Saturday #78

Oops, I am a bit late. However, I created this card for Sketch Saturday #78, so figured I would share anyway.

The sketch that was provided was...

...and here is my card...

I used Cookie Girl by Whiff of Joy. I colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits. The designer paper is Figgy Pudding by Basic Grey. JOY was created with Martha Stewart letter stamps.
I wanted to play some more with the 3-D images. It is sort of hard to see in the picture, but you can see the shadows from the layers.
The flower is Prima's Poinsettia and an extra rose to top it off. The base is created with the Martha Stewart Branch punch and a leaf punch. I added a candy cane charm from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Peace

I had a hankering to use black, white, gray and purple. I have some paper in my stash that would work perfectly for this. This is what I came up with...

Stamps: Lantern Girl (Whiff of Joy)

Ink: Memento

Paper: All paper came from stash. The patterned paper came in a large pack of paper that I got at Hobby Lobby a couple years ago. The silver paper is brushed silver from Stampin' Up!

Embellishments: Prima's, Fire circle brads (Stampin' Up!), Leaf punch (Marvy), Flower and Vine die (Sizzix), Join in the Cheer die (Stampin' Up!).
Other: I used the magic pencil technique using Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.

I carried the Flower and Vine die onto the inside of the card.

Don't you just love these colors together. So regal and elegant.

Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge 89 - brown, sage and neutrals

Here is my submission for the Blogger's Challenge #89. The challenge this week is to use brown, sage and choice of neutrals. Here is my card...

I love this image from Whiff of Joy Stamps called Lantern Girl and colored her with Copics. While this is really a stamp geared toward Christmas, it was the perfect stamp for a friend of mine. I used Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, and some designer paper. For the brown papers, I used a couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders to add some dimension. I doubled up on the ribbon with stitched chocolate chip and some ribbon I found at Walmart that just happens to be sage and brown. I used some small Prima's and Dew Drops to finish it off.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas All Year Long - #2

Well, it is the 25th, and I have my second installment of my Christmas All Year Long challenge. In case you missed it in January, I am challenging you all to get a jump on your Christmas cards. If you are anything like me, I start thinking about cards in September, start my design in October, by November, life is really busy with all the holiday activities, and I am scrambling to actually get my cards done. I figure if I do a little each month, by November, I will be done and can relax about my cards.

So here is my card for February. This card uses the image Cookie Girl from the Whiff of Joy stamp line. You can find this stamp at Roses On Paper. I have bought several stamps from Summer (the owner of Roses on Paper), and she is just wonderful. She also carries Prima Flowers and Magnolia stamps. She has some wonderful designers as well. Go check out her site.

I colored Cookie Girl using Prismacolor Pencils. I decided to venture away from my Copics for a day. I really like the soft look of the Prismacolor Pencils.

To finish off my project, I used a hat pin with pearls and crystals for that extra touch.
I hope you find inspiration to work on those Christmas cards early. Check back on March 25 for another Christmas inspiration card.
Happy Wednesday!
