Cute Card Thursday - It's so Distressing

Happy Thursday!

Time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Our challenge this week is "Distressing."

Here is my card...

Stamps: Cowboy Tilda
Paper: DCWV

I colored Tilda with distress ink.

I wanted to create a hanging sign. I love the way this worked out.

I used the Woodgrain embossing folder to create my western sign.

I loosely interpreted the Saturday Sketchers sketch...

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - Circle Shapes

It's Wednesday and time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.

Our challenge this week is Circle Shapes - Make either a circle shaped card or include circles on your card.

For my card, I jumped way out of my circle of comfort, and made this Asian card...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund...
Accessories: Liquid Pearls

My daughter loves the Japanese culture. When she saw the card, she immediately said, "Oh, I want it!" So, I gave it to her to put in her room.

I altered Tilda's eyes just a bit to bring a more authentic feel to my Japanese themed card.

The ying-yang symbol, pagoda and bridge are from the Cricut Pagoda Cartridge.

For balance I wanted to carry some of the red to the top of the card, so I added these teardrop gems.

I used my retro flower punch and some Liquid Pearls for the flower centers.

While you are over at 7 Kids College Fund, check out the sale on Prima's.
I just love the candy gems and all the new flowers Prima released at this past CHA. Perhaps some of you haven't had a chance to check out the new stuff and what better way to bring it to your attention than to put it on sale! ALL PRIMA is now 15% off through May 15.. Don't miss this chance to save on the already below retail prices!

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - April Showers Bring May Flowers

Is it Wednesday already?

It's time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.
Our challenge this week is April Showers Bring May Flowers. Your choice, showers or flowers.

Here is my card...

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund...

Stamps: End of Summer (Mo Manning)

I colored her with distress ink. I figured since she is playing in the field, she might be a little dirty, so I colored her to reflect this.

The bees are photo corners from Jolees. I just removed the corner and used it as a sticker.

I used Prima Flowers and used rhinestones for the centers.

For this card, I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday...

Cute Card Thursday #161 - No Text

Happy Thursday!

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is No Text. Here is my card...

Stamps: Tilda With Cherries (I turned the cherries into blueberries)
Paper: Moravia (SEI)
Accessories: Flowers, Pearls, Cricut Lacy Labels, charm, ribbon, lace, berries

I colored Tilda with distress inks. I am playing with different styles of coloring hair. I love the result.

I found these adorable berries online. I used pearls to add a different effect of blueberries.

These are technically cherries, but I figured if I colored them blue with alcohol ink, they would become blueberries.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for my card.

Easter/Spring Extravaganza Contest #4

I have another card for the Magnolia-licious Easter/Spring Extravaganza Contest.

Stamps: Tilda With Armful of Tulips (mini), House
Paper: K&Co
Accessories: Ribbon, charm, gold pearls (can you believe it, no flowers).

The scene is pained with distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by today! Wish me luck!

7 Kids College Fund Challenge #19 - Happy Easter

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.
Our challenge this week is Happy Easter - Make a Spring or Easter card. Here is my card...

Stamps: Bunny TildaValentine Bird House (Sugar Creek Hollow)
Paper: Pale Plum and Perfect Plum (SU!), DP from stash.

I colored Bunny Tilda with Copics, cut her out, and put her on the ledge of the bird house with just her foot longer than the card to give a dimensional feel.

I embossed my sentiment to make it pop off the black backdrop. I used Stickles to frame the opening.

I needed to change the color of some flowers, so used my Copics Airbrush System.

I hope you will come join us in our  Happy Easter Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Cute Card Thursday #159 - Totally Tropical

Happy Thursday!

Our challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week is Totally Tropical. Here is my Tropical card...

Stamps: Surfing Edwin, Just Beachy (SU!),
Paper: Citrus (DCWV)
Accessories: Shells, Buttons, Ribbon, Ocean of Words Cricut Cartridge

I was trying to give the feeling of an early morning sunrise on a foggy beach, so the character is backlit with the shadow falling in front of him.

I wanted to add a little something to the button, so I create a spiral with a left over piece of ribbon.

I used my Ocean of Words Cricut cartridge to create some palm trees. I like how these little trees help to create depth in the picture.

I am entering this in the Make It Colourful Bright Colors Challenge.
