Cute Card Thursday #138 - Anything Goes

Happy Thursday!

It's time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge! The sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp. Our challenge this week is...
Anything Goes!

Stamps: Christmas Morning Tilda, Cute and Curly (SU!)
Paper: DCWV

I colored this image with distress inks during the summer while we were camping. I finally have the opportunity to use it here.

I wanted to make my own grunge flower (for the Make Your Own Embellishment challenge at Magnolia Down Under. I used Tattered Florals Tim Holtz Alterations Die with card stock and Mod Podge (in place of grunge paper). I pulled it all together with a rhinestone brad.

This week, I used the sketch for Friday Sketchers.

Thanks for stopping by today. Check in Saturday for Sugar Creek Holllow's challenge.

7 Kids College Fund Challenge #8 - Give Thanks!

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge! I am the hostess for this week's challenge. You are going to want to join in this week for sure. Tab is offering a great prize...

A $75.00 Gift Certificate to 7 Kids College Fund!

With Thanksgiving in the US right around the corner, I figured it was time to Give Thanks! So this week, make a Thank You Card!

You can find the following items at 7 Kids College Fund:
Accessories: Copics Airbrush System, Pearls, Flowers, Spellbinders Fancy Tags
Spellbinders Labels 4

I was having a hard time finding just the right mat for my image. I decided to use Spellbinders Labels 4 with the option to cut two labels, cut them in half and make reform them to make a beautiful mat.

Once again, I went crazy with my Copics Airbrush System. I wanted to match the flowers in the paper. I also added some beads for the Just Magnolia Challenge.

I colored Tilda with a blend of  Copics and Distress Inks.  I am continuing to work with this technique, but really like the blend.

I wanted to use one of the tags from  Spellbinders Fancy Tags, but it did not quite fit in the corner. So I snipped off the ends and refashioned them to make a holder for the sentiment. I added a couple pearls to help tie it in.

I used another sketch from Hanna's Hobbyblogg for this card.

In this moment of gratitude, I would like to say Thank You to all my followers and to those of you who stop by frequently and leave such sweet messages. Your kind support means so much to me.

Hopefully I will see you tomorrow for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge.

Cute Card Thursday #137 - Gently Does It

Happy Thursday!

The challenge for Cute Card Thursday this week is "Gently Does It!" (Use vellum/parchment on your card).

I made this card as a thank you note for some friends that we visited for the weekend a few weeks ago. She loves all thing Fleur De Lis, so I made her a Fleur De Lis card.

The designer paper and Thanks a Bunch stamp are from Stampin' Up! I found the Fleur De Lis at Hobby Lobby.

.I stamped the Fleur De Lis on white cardstock in Mellow Moss ink. I then stamped Thanks a Bunch on vellum in brown Staz-On. I used vellum glue dots to adhere the vellum to the white cardstock.

The sponsor this week over at Cute Card Thursday is Meljen's Designs.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sugar Creek Hollow - Lace

Happy Saturday!

The challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow is to use lace or make your own faux lace on your card. You may use any fall or winter digi.
Here is my card...

For my card, I used the Winter Wonderland Set

I used a felt snowflake (SU!) and added some Stickles and a rhinestone brad to give it sparkle.

I included two lace elements. One is the lace border at the bottom and is very obvious. The other is the glittered paper just above the lace. I ran a piece of white cardstock through my Xyron, laid the lace over the sticky cardstock as a mask, and added glitter. I removed the lace and added another color of glitter, creating this beautiful glitter lace effect. I used organza ribbon and a ribbon rose  bow to finish it off.

You will love what the other design team members have created. Their links are on my side bar. Go check out their blogs and let them know what you love about their cards! And go visit Sugar Creek Hollow. There are some fabulous digis that I know you will just love!

Have a great weekend!

Cute Card Thursday #136 - So Transparent!

Happy Thursday!

Time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge. The challenge this week is So Transparent! (Make a clear card or feature a transparent element). Our sponsor this week is The Stamp Shoppe.

Here is my card...

Stamps: Little Mermaid Tilda, Sea Horse, Seaweed, sentiment from SU! (not sure of the name)
Paper: The paper is from SU! (DP is retired)
Accessories: Transparency, Bubbes Fiskars Texture Plate, Pearls, Flowers, Dew Drops, Branch punch, charm, eyelets, ribbon, fishing line

I cut Tilda out and attached some fishing line to make her appear to be floating in the water. In the pictures above, you can see how she can move back and forth.

After I colored the base, I felt it was a little out of balance, so I added the red bow to carry the red on down the card. I added Dew Drops to give the appearance of 3-D bubbles.

My transparency element is the window for the port hole. I embossed it with the Bubbles Fiskars Texture Plate to give the feel of water. I used vellum with bubbles as a background to Tilda (hard to see the bubbles in the picture). I used white card stock and red eyelets for the port hole.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you Saturday for another Sugar Creek Hollow creation.

7 Kids College Fund Challenge #7 - Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

This week, 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog has a really simple challenge - Birthday!

Here is my card...

I made the background behind Tilda. I used the technique Perfect Distress from Tim Holtz Book, A Compendium of Curiosities, page 38. I used pop dots to layer Tilda over this paper to make her stand out.

I paper pieced some Bella Rose paper for Tilda's dress. I colored the remainder of Tilda with a combination of Copics and distress inks.

I used my Copics Airbrush System to get just the right colors for my roses.

Here is a list of all items used:

Paper: Bella Rose (SU!), LillyKate (Basic Grey)

It's October 25 - A Christmas Card...

I was so excited to receive my Magnolia Fall Kit. When I saw this adorable Gingerbread Tilda, I just had to ink her up. I found this perfect sketch at Papertake Weekly...

...and here is my card...

You can find Gingerbread Tilda available for preorder at 7 Kids College Fund. This paper has become my favorite Christmas paper for the year. It is called A Country Christmas from The Paper Studio.

The background stamps are from a Gingerbread set by Martha Stewart. A Country Christmas. I used a mix of flock and glitter for the snow.

This little tree is actually cut from the paper pack. I used Crystal Effects to make it more substantial and to give it some shine.

The snowflake is from Stampin' Up! and has a rhinestone brad to give it some character.

I hope this inspires you to get started on those Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by today!

Sugar Creek Hollow - Use This Digi

Happy Saturday!

The challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow this week is to use one of these digis...

or

I chose the cardinal. Here is my card...

Stamp: Christmas Cardinal, Christmas Plaque, Warmest Regards (SU!)
Paper: Daisy D's, Brushed Copper, transparency, vellum.
Ink: Versamark, Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Grungeboard, Copper Embossing Powder, Stickles, crystal gems, Poinsettia flowers, Copper cord.

I printed Christmas Cardinal on transparency. I then applied Stickles to the back of the transparency so it will stay protected.

I colored the Grungeboard with distress inks, covered with crackle paint, and went over it with Black Soot distress ink. There were a few places that were shiny, so I sanded it a bit which added to the distress feel.

I used the sketch from Midnight Madness.

I am so glad you stopped by today. Stop by Monday. I will be posting a Christmas card using one of the new Christmas Tildas.
