Make It Crafty - Enchanted Unicorn

Howdy Everyone!

Today, I am posting a card featuring a beautiful image from Make It Crafty called Enchanted Unicorn.

I used a lot of peach with pearls, cheese cloth and a doily to give this a very feminine feel.

I used several Copics with a flicking technique to create the rainbow color in the unicorn's mane and tail.

This lovely sentiment comes from Stamper's Anonymous by Tim Holtz. I love his inspirational sentiments.

If you look below the flowers, you can see I used a Leaf Chippie to embellish the flowers. I covered it with Pearl Acrylic paint and used my airbrush to add blue and green Copics for color. I love that the pearl shows through even when covered with a spray of Copics.

Here is the list of supplies I used on this card...

Stuff to Say - Stamper's Anonymous
Once Upon a Time Paper - DCWV
Copics
Copics Airbrush System
Distress Ink
Flowers
Cheese Cloth
Doily
Pearls
Liquid Pearls (Border around the unicorn)

Hey, have you seen Zoe's new Coloring Techniques With Markers? If you have not seen this book yet, you have to check it out. She gives very easy-to-follow tutorials, great for the beginner, and great for experienced stamper who wants to brush up on their skills and learn something new.

Sympathy Card

The card I am posting today is sad for me because it represents the loss of two people in my life over the last week.
My aunt passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. We also lost a friend, a precious member of our church this week.
I made this sympathy card while thinking of the families of these two precious ladies.
No images with this card. I used layers of spellbinders dies and a simple sympathy sentiment.
Fleur de Lis Pendant - Spellbinders
 Anna Griffin Sentiment

I used my Xyron adhesive, but I don't love the fact that it leaves bits of adhesive in the spaces. I need to work on a better solution for layering.

So, sad reasons for my card today, but wanted to give you some inspiration for the times when a sympathy card is in order.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Make It Crafty - Sealed with a Kiss

Howdy Y'all!
I hope you are having a great summer (or winter depending on where you live)!!!  We are having a nice, warm summer so far.

For my card today, I am featuring a beautiful new stamp from Make It Crafty called "Sealed with a Kiss."

I wanted to carry the fancy dress onto the card, so I added some of this gorgeous lace. I also added a chippie from the Butterfly Swirls collection I colored the chippie with purple paint and added some Perfect Pearls for some shimmer.

She is crazy fun to color. I used several shades of Copics to add the shadows, leaving some areas white for the highlights.

Of course I had to add flowers to this beauty's card. I loved the leaves because they are the same tone as the paper with purple tips.
I used the following items on my card.

Paper: Once Upon a Time (DCWV)
Ink: Copics, Dye Ink
Accessories: Lace, Liquid Pearls, Flowers, Leaves, paint, Perfect Pearls

I am entering my card in the Crafting Life's Pieces Challenge using this sketch...

Happy Independence Day!!!

Our challenge today at 7 Kids College Fund is STARS AND STRIPES! You don't have to make it a 4th of July card, just use stars and stripes.

I got all patriotic and went with the 4th of July theme...

Copics

This stamp is called Tilda Catching Stars, but it always feels to me like she is throwing stars more than catching them.

I hope you will join us at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge.

Have a Safe and Happy 4th!!! Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Friday!
Today, I have a card for you using a combination of digi images from Make It Crafty!

I used Photoshop to combine Sitting Jane and The Ivy Swing.  I liked how the image left a perfect opening for a sentiment.

I colored the image with Copics. I added the framing around the edges with distress ink and a blending tool, and used the leaves from Window Wall Elements and a dotted stamp in Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint.

I used this Swirly Corner Chippie for am embellishment. I used white paint, then added peacock embossing powder and iridescent embossing powder. I added a pearl to the center of the chippie.
I used the following items on my card...
Garden Party (DCWV)
Copics
Distress Ink
Flowers
Peacock Embossing Powder
Iridescent Embossing Powder
Pearls
Leaves Punch
Branch Punch
So glad you stopped by today!

Happy Wednesday!
Our challenge this week at 7 Kids College Fund, our challenge is to use the Orange Creamsicle as inspiration.

...and here is my card...

Paper: Citrus (DCWV)
Accessories: Flowers

This offered a great challenge for me as I never seem to use orange. However, I love the card. I love her orange pants. I love how bright and cheery the card is. I carried the orange into her hair. Doesn't it look like it is on fire? I used a combination of Copics and Distress Markers to highlight and define her hair.

I added some polka dot flowers to carry on the polka dots in her shorts.

I got this sweet Chippie from Make it Crafty. I used a white paint dauber, peacock embossing powder, and then added a layer of sparkly embossing powder to give the dragonfly some pizazz.

Thanks for stopping by today, and check out the great selection of Mo Manning Stamps at 7 Kids College Fund,

Make It Crafty - Grassy Scene

Happy Saturday!

I have had several requests to show how I make a grassy scene, so today I am posting a tutorial showing how I put these together.

Here is the finished product...

My hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend, 23 years! I made this anniversary card for him.

I used Copics to color the majority of the image and the base of the grass. I created the tufts of grass with distress ink markers and I also used distress markers to fill in some detail.

I used a white gel pen to add some little flowers in the grass.
I used the following items on my card...
Make it Crafty digi images:
Garden Party (DCWV)
Copics
Distress Ink Markers
Flower Punch
Roses
Spellbinders Scalloped Heart
Spellbinders Ribbon Banners
Martha Steward Fence Border

7 Kids College Fund - School's Out!

Happy Wednesday!
Today at 7 Kids College Fund, we are celebrating the end of school with our "School's Out!" challenge. For me, school's out means the start of summer, so here is my summer card.

Background elements from Make It Crafty
Pearls

I need to practice with the dress a bit more. I like it, but I don't LOVE it.  I tried a new technique for the grass and trees. I really like the result. If you are interested, you can find the tutorial here.

I did not want the sentiment to pop out, but to be more subtle, so I added it to the grass. I added some white gel pen to the sentiment and added pearls to help the sentiment stand out just a bit.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Tuesday!
Today, I have a new image from Make It Crafty to spotlight. It is from the adorable "Melissa" collection.

This little cutie is called Melissa's Balloon. I made this card for my friend's daughter, a beautiful little blond who is little miss personality.

I colored Melissa with Copics. I love the snarky look on Melissa's face.

I added Glossy Accents to the balloon to give it dimension.

I create a bouquet of flowers around the ribbon, and added an extra pink ribbon to correspond with the ribbons on the dress.

We got the saying from my friend, "Really, are you kidding me?" She says it frequently. When we use the phrase, we smile and think of her.

I used the following products on my card:

Die Cuts With a View Paper Stack
Spellbinders Scalloped Oval
Spellbinders Fancy Tags 3
Prima Flowers
Pearls
Ribbon
Glossy Accents
Photo Corners punch
