Cute Card Thursday #141 - The Blues

Happy Thursday!

It's time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Our challenge this week is The Blues.Instead of a card, I altered another cigar box (I have a local source). Here is my box...

I used Tilda With Curls and Open Gate, both available at 7 Kids College Fund. I colored the image with a combination of Copics and Distress Ink. I drew in some extra grass to complete the scene.

Here are some other pictures of my altered cigar box...

I will be giving this as a gift this year. There is joy and fear in making a gift. I love that I can make something I would LOVE to keep, but worry whether the recipient will love it like I do. Such is the challenge of the crafter.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Well if the recipient does't like it I am willing to sacrifice myself hihihi.... It's so nice I wish I was your friend. Everything is perfect the way you paint the box and the way you decorate it. I love Magnolia stamp and you made this one turn to life. Congrat.

This completely took my breath away!!!1 I would LOVE to receive this, as I think anyone would. I know what you mean though, it is hard to make something for someone who is not a crafter and hope that they will cherish the gift as much as we do. Well, I will take it if your recipient does not want it. LOL. It is just gorgeous!!!!

Great image, your coloring is spot on. That's a lot of flowers, but really add to the card. The crackle paint adds a nice touch. Thanks for sharing.
Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Wow, Julie this is gorgeous. Love the way you painted it with the crackle paint and the coloring is just beautiful. Every detail about this is perfect. May I ask where you find your Cigar boxes. This would make a perfect gift for my girlfriend.

Hi, Julie,
THank you for your comment on my Sugar Creek Hollow card - in my SCS gallery.
I just had to come back here to comment. First of all, your cards are gorgeous! I really like all the details and the rich colors.
Next, I also have to mention that our grandson has been in Durango for nearly 4 years - he is a senior at Ft. Lewis, and works at Ken and Sue's restaurant. What a pretty place to live!
